Nestled next to the historic district of the city, Savannah Botanical Gardens gives you the perfect retreat for your wedding day! The venue offers a quiet manor amidst the sprawling gardens with thoughtful accommodations for parties of all sizes. As a Georgia wedding photographer, I have been lucky enough to go behind the scenes of this venue. Here’s what you need to know about planning a Savannah Botanical Gardens wedding!
2 Canebrake Road, Savannah, Georgia 31419While the surrounding areas might be thick with Savannah history, the Savannah Botanical Gardens are a fairly new addition to the town. The gardens were designed in the late 1980s to give residents a picture-perfect place to spend a quiet afternoon. As you explore the ten acres, you’ll pass through moody woods and vibrant rose gardens before stumbling upon the crowning jewel, a circa 1840 family manor called the Reinhard House. You will be able to combine all these features for a truly unique wedding!
Savannah Botanical Garden allows you to rent out both the manor and the gardens for your wedding day. The house is the perfect place to get ready ahead of the ceremony. That morning, you will be able to take your time putting on all the finishing touches alongside your besties!
As you take your wedding portraits, your guests can head back to the manor, where they can enjoy drinks on the patio for your cocktail hour. You will have several options for your reception. The venue offers a covered porch as well as an open patio where you can host your dinner. With Savannah Botanical Gardens, you will be able to celebrate alongside up to 200 guests.
The botanical gardens are rich with spots that will be perfect for your portraits! For bridal parties, the outside porch in front of the manor is always my favorite! The bridge is ideal for first-look portraits, while the trails will be great for couple portraits.
Savannah Botanical Gardens gives you freedom so you can plan your dream day! For your catering, you will be able to choose from a preferred list, and they will let you BYOB. They invite you to bring along your own entertainment and will allow amplified music both inside and outside. The space is wheelchair accessible, so every guest can be there for your day!
Paige and Jack’s beautiful summer coastal garden wedding at the Savannah Botanical Gardens was a celebration set against nature’s finest. The lush gardens provided a magical setting as the couple exchanged vows, surrounded by vibrant blooms and the warm Southern breeze. After the heartfelt ceremony, Jack honored his late father by driving to the reception in his father’s classic car.
Paige and her friends shared a special moment, popping champagne and doing their own hair and makeup, bringing a relaxed yet joyful energy to the day. Meanwhile, Jack and his friends took time to prepare the ceremony space, adding a personal element to the ceremony. Every element reflected their love and personalities, from the intimate setting to the little details they put into the day.
As a nod to Savannah’s coastal beauty, hand-painted oyster shell name cards were carefully placed at each setting for the intimate dinner that followed. Held at Local 11ten, the reception was a warm gathering of close family and friends, filled with love, laughter, and incredible food. The evening embodied the perfect blend of Southern charm and personal significance.
Paige and Jack’s wedding wasn’t just a celebration of their love—it was a reflection of their story and the people closest to them. Every moment, from the ceremony to the reception, was a meaningful celebration that honored not just the couple but the relationships they share with their family and friends.
